Personality:

Selfless: One of the most defining traits that Crow truly embodies is his selflessness. On more than one occasion Crow puts the well being of the group above himself — whether people he knows personally or the good of the majority of society in general. He’s willing to sacrifice everything to protect the Satellite (the impoverished area that he lives separated from Domino City proper). He puts his life on the line numerous time to help Yusei in fighting those trying to attack innocent people and ended up hurt in the process. Crow cares deeply for other people and doesn’t think twice about himself. When his team was struggling with money, he worked as many shifts as he could find to help provide the basics and keep bill collectors off their backs, in spite of the fact that he was the one that was primarily providing for 4 people financially. Earlier in life, he took kids under his wings and would dedicate his time to helping them get a better life. He made sure that the orphans he knew had everything that they needed.

Caring: Crow is a caretaker. Even when he was a child himself, he tended to take care of other kids who either didn’t have parents or had parents that were busy trying to provide for the kids. He worries about how his actions affect the people around him, whether the orphans who look up to him and who he promised to take care of or his turbo dueling team. How deeply Crow cares about those around him feeds into his selflessness where he has a hard time prioritizing himself and instead will make choices that leave him in the position to be providing or supporting another.

Loyal: Crow is also very loyal, almost to a fault. In the same vein of being selfless and caring he continues to show his loyalty in excessive ways. He will do anything for Yusei, in particular. In important duels, he on more than one occasion, sacrificed his life points, ending up crashing his bike and getting injured in order to get Yusei an advantage. One of the most poignant examples of his loyalty, in my opinion, is during a team tournament he was injured and couldn’t participate any longer. As they filled his spot almost immediately with another person, his immediate reaction was hurt and feeling betrayed that he is so easily replaced and he had stormed off. However, without Yusei or Jack knowing, he had come back to help Aki (the teammate replacing him) and worked with her overnight to get her ready for the tournament the next day. He didn’t let his ego get in the way of doing what was best for everyone.

Impulsive: Crow is very quick to action. When he sees a problem he will throw himself at it head on and not take time to plan or think through the consequences of his actions. Out of anger and grief in finding everyone in the Satellite is gone, he challenges a powerful enemy even though he is not one of the chosen duelist with extra power. He refuses to tell Yusei the reason he makes the challenge and instead throws himself into a duel that he shouldn’t have any chance of winning without really thinking it through. It turns out alright but it could have ended him instead.

Hot-headed: Crow’s hot-headedness tends to show most often with his friend Jack. Jack tends to push Crow’s buttons and he will respond in anger. An example is that Crow is working very hard to make money for the team and Jack is contributing nothing financially. However, he’s spending without thought or seeming concern to how hard the others are working to get ready for the tournament and to keep a roof over their heads. Crow snaps at Jack for basically “eating all their money”. He says some hurtful things in the heat of the moment.

Abilities & Inventory:
He has Tail Mark of the Dragon but it’s powers don’t transfer without the other Signers.
A bit of a fix it man with things like motorcycles but he doesn’t have any supernatural abilities or anything of the sort aside from being a Signer.
He’ll just have his clothes/accessories and his Blackwings deck and duel disk on him at time of arrival.

Suitability & Plans: To be honest, primarily, I really want to play Crow and that is a big part of the why. However, I do think that it is an interesting and fun environment to throw Crow into. It will be very interesting to see what he gravitates toward without feeling responsible for the orphans that he’s been taking care of for several years. He’s never put himself or his own goals first so learning how to navigate a place where he doesn’t have his support system and found family will be interesting.

Even though Crow has pretty much always had his core group with him, he’s a very resilient guy. He can adapt to situations and finds the silver lining even if at times he will sulk a bit about a bad situation first. He will miss his friends and the kids very much but he also is aware of how important it is to move forward and deal with the situation you are in and he can roll with the punches. Crow is a go-getter and will be searching for opportunities to create a social circle for himself and adapt to what it takes to survive and thrive in the game’s environment.
